7 Days Road Cycling on Turquoise Coast, Lycia.


Day 1 Transfer.
We will meet you at Dalaman Airport and transfer you to Dalyan. Night in Tezcan Hotel on riverside. BB.
Day 2. Cycle round Koycegiz Lake.
Cycle around the spectacular Koycegiz lake, we will have time to enjoy the hot springs at Sultaniye, before a boat back across the river to Dalyan. 65Km. There may be time for visit to the DEKAMER turtle sanctuary this evening. Overnight in Hotel with pool.
Day 3. Dalyan to G----cek. Private boat trip to Fethiye
Biking South through the wildlife rich floodplains to Sulungur Lake. Over the hill we go to the plain of Dalaman, observing some Carian Rock Tombs on route. Taking the path less travelled, we climb into the hills, far away from the highway, dropping down to Göcek, where we get on to our private boat crossing the grand bay of Fethiye, with time for a swim on way! 50Km. Overnight in Fethiye. Central hotel.
Day 4. Fethiye, Minare village, Saklikent canyon.
Biking South through the wildlife rich floodplains to Sulungur Lake. Over the hill we go to the plain of Dalaman, observing some Carian Rock Tombs on route. Taking the path less travelled, we climb into the hills, far away from the highway, dropping down to Göcek, where we get on to our private boat crossing the grand bay of Fethiye, with time for a swim on way! 50Km. Overnight in Fethiye. Central hotel
Day 5. The Queen Stage. Tlos to Sutlegen
The queen stage. We aither ride up to the ancient city of Tlos, perched overlooking the Xanthos valley, or jump on the bus to give us a head start! After an optional tour of Tlos, we cycle up through the villages which cling to the shoulders of Mt Akdag, which towers to 3000 meters. After having a well deserved and tasty lunch with a family who live in an rural idyll, we continue up to Sutlegen. to stay the nigt in a village home in this interesting market village. 45 ( or 55 km)
Day 6. Sutlegen - Islamlar - Xanthos - Patara
Turning our backs to the mountains we descend to the coast again today, our long swooping descend is broken by tea stops and lunch in a trout farm, before the final descent to the UNESCO site at Xanthos, the original capital of the Lycians. We learn of the tragic events of this city and marvel at the artworks which remain, in spite of the finest being taken to the British Museum. We then cycle to The Roman capital of Lycia, Patara, to marvel at the immaculately preserved parliament chamber, thought to be the mother of all federal parliments. We end this long and satisfying day by cycling to Patara beach, watching the sunset with a beer over the 18Kms of untouched beach. 50Km riding. Overnight in hotel with pool.
Day 7. Patara - Kalkan - Kas
We finish the week with a bike ride along the twisty coastal road crossing over canyons, and golden beaches, we salute the Greek islands just offshore, and learn the true meaning of Turquoise, in the sparking water below. We arrive isn the stylish resort of Kas, in time for lunch on the town''s picturesque square. Our hotel has a pool and Turkish bath, perfect for relaxing your newly toned legs. 45Kms.

We finish the week with a bike ride along the twisty coastal road crossing over canyons, and golden beaches, we salute the Greek islands just offshore, and learn the true meaning of Turquoise, in the sparking water below.
